Abbey Park is managed by the Leicester City Council, more details on the park can be found here.

For Bonfire Night the park gates are sealed or on other occasions parts of the park may be out of bounds.

Cafe is in the centre of the park.

Beginners: Groups with beginners may wish to practice in the Centre of the park using the Star Loop pack. Download the guide and if you want the maps referred to then download these too. Details can be found under "Abbey Park". website

Groups: You should contact the Parks Office who will advise you about other events and may even check all the markers are in place.

Score: The score course is finding as many as you can in a time limit, with penalties for lateness. Start and finish at the same point.

Safety: The area is flat and split in two by the River Soar, which forms a lake at its widest point, a canal is the south-eastern edge of the Park. The Riverside course crosses the River Soar and roads, do make use of Pedestrian crossings and bridges. See also safety advice sheet on "Abbey park" courses.

Missing Controls: For further information and known issues relating to controls, please see the Leicestershire Orienteering Club website . Controls on the Orange Riverside course no. 102 and 104 are missing.
