Newcastle Exhibition Park & Town Moor
Formal parkland with the option of extending onto part of the Town Moor (rough pasture with the option of longer route choices on paths/tracks and pasture)
Safety: The Freemen of Newcastle upon Tyne are entitled to graze cattle on the moor. Do not run up to cattle or through groups of cattle on the moor – you may appear threatening or cause them harm by stampeding them which could hurt other users of the moor. Similarly, try not to get encircled by cattle. Cattle are mostly just curious but beware. Respect other moor and park users and allow them (particularly children) space when competing. Be aware of cyclists. Please keep off planted areas.
23/7/25 Course checked. Note that there is presently no marker at the start noticeboard.
On control 12 marker the digit 2 has faded and appears to be numbered 1.
Work on the Town Moor has led to the following:
New fencing and locked gates prevent passage from the moor north of the park to the west at control site 23. The marker has been removed and the site will be deleted from courses.
There is no marker at 19.
Marker 16 has been moved slightly nearer to the park at the end of a new fence alongside the track.
The recommended courses and map will be amended as soon as possible to reflect these changes.
