Pickering Park
Opened in 1911, this 60-acre site is home to a fishing lake, a sensory garden, an outdoor gym and multi-use games area, a playground and a paddling pool (open summertime) and sports pitches. The site can be accessed from Pickering Road or Hessle Road.
The terrain is flat open grassland and is mostly set to playing fields. There is a good network of prepared paths and the two shorter courses make use of these. However, participants on the longest course would need to be able to cross the playing fields. There is a number of small wooded areas but route choices can avoid these.
